This room is a special retreat to rejuvenate mind and soul. A private breakfast can be served in your room. This room can also be adjoined to the Sangiovese Suite on the same level if traveling with friends or extended family. This room is specially built to be ADA compliant as well.

The Merlot grape, is a noble, rich and plump transplant from the wealthiest of Bordeaux estates, but it has been slow to catch on in New World wine regions, except for California, Washington and a scattering of other states. In California, consumer interest in discovering a serious red varietal other than Cabernet Sauvignon eventually sparked an exponential increase in acreage. By the year 2000, total tonnage of Merlot crushed in the state inched towards that of Cabernet (CS’s 357 k compared to Merlot’s 305 k).

A romantic 3 room suite with lush maroon carpeting and granite tile details. Enter from the garden with the calming sound of the fountain right outside your door; includes a large living room with cozy fireplace, a bedroom featuring antique furniture including a queen size bed, and a second smaller bedroom with a double bed. The spacious bathroom is appointed with hardwood floor, white marble tile walls, crystal chandelier, crown moldings and a soaking tub for two. In addition, there is a walk in shower with a large rain fall shower head. This suite is perfect if traveling with additional family members since it can also be adjoined to the extremely luxurious Merlot on the same level (perfect for 5-6).

Sangiovese is a red wine grape variety originating in Tuscany where it was known by the 16th century. It is most famous as the main component of the Chianti blend in Tuscany. Young sangiovese has fresh fruity flavors of strawberry and a little spiciness, but it readily takes on oaky, even tarry, flavors when aged in barrels. Italian immigrants brought Sangiovese to California in the late 1800s and lately there has been renewed interest in the grape.

The Barbera is the centerpiece of our second floor. It features a King size bed with a brass headboard. The floral bedspread and pastel colors used throughout the room complement the oak furnishings which include a 6 foot high armoire. Sit in the comfortable chairs to see the view of the surrounding foothills. The Barbera has a private bath with tub and shower.

Named after the grape Barbera, which is an ancient variety with its historical roots in Italy, it is the fifth most widely planted variety in California. The Sierra Foothills, where very warm days are moderated by cool nights, produce some of the state's best varietal Barberas.

Barretta Garden Inn Policies

· All of our room rates are per room, per night, for two adults (double occupancy). An 8% County Transit Occupancy Tax will be added to the room rate. In rooms with additional beds an extra charge of $25 for each additional person will apply. Rates are subject to change.

· All rooms include complimentary early beverage service and a full breakfast, served in our dining room between 9:00am and 10:00am.

· Reservations can be made and your room guaranteed by using a credit card. We accept MasterCard and VISA.

· When cancellations are made within 14 days of scheduled arrival, guest is responsible for the full amount of the scheduled stay and the full amount of the reservation will be charged to your card , however we will send you a rain check valid for one year, excluding major holidays

· Longer cancellation periods will be applied to multi-room bookings.

· For reservations made within the 14 day period, they are considered firm and will be charged to your credit card on the day of your scheduled arrival

· We do not give credit or refunds for early departures, unless we are able to re-rent the room(s).

· No-Shows are charged for full scheduled stay.

· Cancellations must be made by speaking directly with the innkeeper via the telephone in order for us to confirm your cancellation

· Please inform us at time of reservation of any dietary or allergy considerations.

· Check In: 4:00 p.m.-6:00pm Check Out: 11:00 a.m. unless special arrangements have been made

· We do offer business travelers for the State, City, County and School Systems the special per diem rate for travel Monday through Thursday. The per diem is for single room occupancy. Add $50.00 for a second person. Selected rooms apply.
